The Town of Fairfield, CT continuously looks for cost saving and environmentally friendly applications so they selected HPE for a design build project to reduce their electrical costs by generating some of their own electricity. By utilizing waste “methane” gas from their waste water treatment facility to fuel 6 x 60 kW and 2 x 30 kW Micro Turbines with heat recovery. The units designed and approved by the utility ran parallel with the grid as a “429 kW base load” while reducing energy costs to the plant.
